Sarah Spisak of Metal Method
My fascination with guitar began as early as first grade, when I made a "guitar" from construction paper. My next instruments were cigar boxes with rubber bands. I started playing acoustic (all that was available to me) in about sixth grade. In high school I got an electric and soon after that bought the new Metal Method course (1983).
I got a B.A. in Music in college and kept practicing and studying. As with Metal Method founder Doug Marks, playing guitar never came easy to me. I also didn't have any friends who played guitar and could show me things.
As a devoted student, I grew to be a teacher!
When I first went online, I went straight to MetalMethod.com. I volunteered, helping answer questions in the newsletter and basically being an intern without a formal invitation.
Then I became an employee. I had my dream job with the company I loved since 1983!
